The saying that everything old eventually becomes new again certainly rings true when it comes to planning and producing vintage-style events. Over the past few years, Current Affairs has worked with a number of non-profit Clients to pay homage to bygone eras yet with a modern twist or two.

IONA 360
Whoever said vintage had to be old and stodgy? We had the pleasure of sponsoring IONA360‘s cannot-be-missed annual fundraiser, featuring a vintage theme, at the Sheraton Waikiki. With our warehouse brimming with a bounty of décor elements, we invited Cheryl Flaherty, Creative Director for Iona Dance Troupe, to handpick key pieces for the event. By pairing vintage cache with modern design, a classic European feel was created – and the event even featured a one of a kind Italian gondola!
IOLANI PALACE
The beloved Royal Ball soiree at Iolani Palace was a night to remember. We had the fun task of taking our Guests back in time to the lavishness of the royal balls held during the days of the Hawaiian Monarchy. Guests were seated at the Nobles Table and were given a box of Hawaiian salts as a symbol of blessing for King Kalakaua’s birthday.
DIAMOND HEAD THEATRE
Diamond Head Theatre’s 100th Anniversary Gala themed “A Broadway Night To Remember” began at Times Square (Sheraton Waikiki) and took Guests to the different boulevards of Broadway. Each featured boulevard was created with its own unique elements.
HAWAII THEATRE
Hawaii Theatre channeled vintage Americana in its annual gala. For this ‘Old Hollywood’ inspired theme, we brought Guests back in time even before they went inside! As Guest walked down the red carpet, the street was lined with these American classic cars.
PACIFIC AVIATION MUSEUM
Pacific Aviation Museum Pearl Harbor held their annual fundraiser in its historic hangars of Ford Island. Vintage planes, themed era cocktails and décor gave Guests the ultimate journey through American aviation.
