This popular Mainland-based technology company was a return Client who requested that we plan an elaborate trio of events on the Big Island of Hawaii for 140 of its top Sales Associates. The Welcome Event was held on the Beach Tree Lawn of the Hualalai Resort and featured an introduction to the Big Island by bringing local purveyors, artists, and amusements to the Guests, including a Hawaiian story teller, a local beekeeper, an amazing and passionate coffee grower, and a traditional slack key guitar player, to name a few. Guests were encouraged to visit these and other local artisans as they explored the Island during their stay. The chic event included a unique fabric design using chevron pattern in our lounge settings, which was soon to become a trendy design piece across the globe.
The next event was set on the grounds of the historic Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, giving Guests a taste of Laurance S. Rockefeller’s vision of the Big Island’s first major resort. The cocktail reception began with keiki hula dancers leading the Guests to the North Point Lawn, which overlooks a breathtaking coastline and manta rays frolicking near the rocks below. Following the cocktail reception, Guests were heralded by Conch shell blowers into the adjacent Luau grounds for a traditional Hawaiian feast and truly authentic Hawaiian entertainment with a show created by the Lim family.
The last of the three events was the Awards Dinner, which was originally slated to take place outdoors and connect to the Big Island’s formation by being surrounded with lava fields that make up the amazing Hoku Amphitheater at Hualalai. Due to unfortunate weather conditions, the event was moved indoors. Even though the event was planned to be outdoors, we were prepared with the right equipment to relocate the event and recreate a look to make this the crescendo to an incredible sojourn on the Big Island of Hawaii. A follow up with the Client included a request to “reserve last night’s band” for their program in 2016! We are honored to be able to collaborate and earn the trust of such valued Clients as this one.
