At the start of every year, the top designers in New York reveal the ‘Top Trends’ for the season – from patterns and prints to furnishing and décor pieces. At Current Affairs, we take pride in being at the pinnacle of innovative designs and current trends, as demonstrated by a recent event we started planning for back in September last year and recently we produced at an oceanfront venue on Maui. The Event featured hues of illuminated blues, LED tabletop fixtures and effective customization – all of which were later identified among this year’s top trends – positioning Current Affairs ahead of the curve!

Maui’s Natural Beauty
The setting for this oceanfront cocktail reception was simply spectacular, with a rolling green lawn overlooking the sparkling Pacific Ocean.
An enchanted welcome
Designer highlight: LED spheres lined and illuminated the path for our Guests as they arrived. Keiki halau (children’s hula troupe) also greeted our Guests with a welcome hula.
Dining in design
As dusk fell, the LED furniture pieces began to illuminate. Spheres glowed with hues of blue, creating an illusion of a wave of blue orbs floating through the sky, while etched cocktail tables kept the Guests grounded in a sea of blues.
Designer highlight: Specialty LED centerpieces took front and center as Guests enjoyed their dinner course.
While dinner was served, our Guest band, Full Flavor featuring Shea Derrick, played a more upbeat set, different than the down-tempo tunes during cocktails; ultimately setting the mood for a high-energy dance music toward the end of the evening for Guests to dance the night away!
Designer highlight: Customized logo pieces added a personal touch to this Event. From a personalized dance floor to the illuminated bar station, we strategically placed their logo on statement pieces throughout the Event.
