A Blast from the Past

Diners, carnivals and old-fashioned soda shops came alive at this 1950s inspired shindig. Our Client from Australia hosts an incentive trip for their employees and their families each year. It was previously held in Australia and Vietnam before coming to Hawaiʻi this April, with plans to travel to Fiji in 2019. Our Team loved the challenge of creating custom “Grease” movie inspired decor and taking this throwback event to the next level.

Upon arrival, Guests walked through our vibrant and playful balloon arch, where they were greeted by gorgeous views of Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head at the Sheraton Waikiki’s Helumoa Playground.

Checkered banners and metallic pink and orange banners were strewn from palm trees throughout the venue, and we incorporated many special themed touches, from custom wooden facades to ice cream shaped balloons. There were also carnival games, like corn hole and basketball, along with a custom 1950s diner-inspired photo booth. The Event welcomed leather jackets and hairspray sealed hair-dos, as Guests were encouraged to embrace the theme and compete in a costume contest.

The hotel staff also dressed to theme in pinstripe vests and paper hats, while serving a delicious spread of food. DJ Telley entertained Guests while they socialized and took photos with minglers dressed as the iconic and glamorous Pink Ladies.

With only two hours to set up, our Team made like “Grease Lightning” to give our Client a truly memorable evening. We loved the challenge and embrace any opportunity to get creative and make our Clients’ dreams come true. Contact us today to find out how we can make your next event a success.
